The new startup Prometheus seeks to build an “artificial general engineer” that can design and manufacture complex physical products.
Bezos does not believe AI will lead to catastrophic job loss but will instead increase the average standard of living and lead to significant productivity gains. He said the goal of Prometheus is to improve the work and speed of engineers, not replace them. However, he indicated some regulation of the nascent industry is necessary.
